5 STEPS TO MASTERING CALLIGRAPHY

Calligraphy is a famous art form known across the globe. Its reigning popularity in the real and virtual world is an evident proof of its grace. Calligraphy is one of the art forms that is created using letters in written format with the utmost beauty.
Calligraphy can be dated back to 600AD. It was of great value and importance, even in the historic times. It was first thought to be discovered by Romans in the late 17th century, but there is no evidence to support this, keeping its origin yet a mystery.
Calligraphy may look like a simple play of art using words but it isn't in reality. It is a tough play where you have to make sure of every curves and line curated a design. For one to master this art, here are a few tricks:

Step 1- Focus on the right letters to practice.
A common misconception is that once you learn how to use the tools you can start writing the alphabet over and over. That is not the case!
It is very important to understand the particular shape for the particular letter form and their formations. So one needs to practice a lot and consistently to learn it. Practice should not be restricted to only letters. But should be extended to words.

Step 2- Get consistent.
Once your letters start to look uniform, you can then work on the other aspects of consistency. While you practice the letter forms and words, it is also important to be consistent in your work. You can keep on changing the style and to master this art, consistency of the writing is the only way to perfect the art.

Step3- Connect your letters.
Once you have developed consistency in the look of your letters then you can move on to connect letters, and form words. Try writing the same words over and over again. Understanding individual letterforms and their patterns is crucial but so is to connect the letters and form a patterned word.

Step 4- As you practice, LOOK at what you are doing.
Don't just look and think that doesn't look right, or that's not good and keep doing it over and over again. Instead, really think about WHY the letters and words do not look like the exemplary you are trying to match. Repetition is the key to muscle memory the key to improvement. If you are not getting the hang of a specific letter to try to sleep on it and pick it up again at a later date.

Step 5 -Don't get discouraged if you are not as good as you want to be immediately.
Remember, we all had to start somewhere we are all continuously learning and growing there is no definitive end goal. Don't compare your beginning to the middle. Practice is the only way to succeed and beat your previous performance.
